How to Create The Ultimate TV Marketing Plan

When you think about creating a marketing plan, it’s natural that you may immediately think about using the internet to spread your brand to as many people as possible. However, you don’t just have to focus on your internet marketing to appeal to a global audience. Instead, you can actually advertise your products on the TV to spread awareness of your brand. If you’re interested in creating a marketing plan for a TV platform, here are some tips to help you get started.

  1. Consider your plan

Just like any other marketing platform, it’s important that you figure out what you want to achieve through TV advertisements. Think about your objectives and what your KPIs are all about, then you will find it easier to move forward with your plan.

  1. Learn from marketing experts

If you are thinking about creating a TV advertisement, the first thing you need to take a look at are the advertisements that are already on the TV. In particular, take a look at the ads that are in your niche. Nowadays, some advertisements try to be blunt with their products, whilst others merge their advertisements with their current campaigns to create a consistent message between platforms. Consider what your brand actually looks like from an outsider’s perspective. If you were a law firm, it’s more likely that you will create a serious advertisement, however if you are a toy company, you should try to think more outside the box. Take a look at the current advertisements playing on your TV and then try and think how you could make them better.

  1. Consider your timings

It’s important that you pick the right TV channel and time for your advertisement to be played. Think carefully about the theme of your advert and what type of shows are placed on TV. Adverts can be played during the breaks of TV shows; however, they can also have them played just before the programme begins. So, make sure to have a think about when you want the commercial to be played. If you play the advert at night, it’s more likely to have an adult audience than if it was played during the day time.

  1. Use a “narrowcast”

The main reason why you want to use TV advertising is to show off your product to the right audience. That’s why you should consider using a “narrowcast” approach. If you are opting to use a “narrowcast” plan, you are essentially trying to create a viewer profile. So, if you are aiming for an audience of young adults, it’s likely that they are going to be focused on free-streaming platforms; however, they may still use traditional TV sets to view content. If you can hone in on the correct audience, you can figure out what type of advertisements would draw their attention the most.

Get started on your marketing plan

If you intend to utilise all forms of marketing to ensure that you can grow your brand, TV advertising is a great place to start. It is the perfect place to begin in your marketing journey.
