  • Lettermark: If your brand name is too long or complicated for one to pronounce or remember correctly, then you can create a lettermark logo. For instance, the actual brand name of IT company HP is Hewlett-Packard, and that of CNN is Cable News Network. Since both of these full names are too long and bad for memorization, they chose to create lettermark logos and were right in deciding so.
  • Brandmark: Brandmark logos use icons or symbols rather than company names. Examples include Twitter, Pepsi, Shell, Target, etc.
  1. Pick the Right Font

Fonts play a big role in making a logo design successful. This is because some fonts work better for logo design than others such as Caslon, Bodoni, Calluna, Garamond, Georgia, etc. You need to find a font that works for your logo and also fits your brand book. You should also remember that different fonts evoke different kinds of emotions. For instance, Georgia is a formal font while Monotype Corsiva is an elegant font. You can study different fonts online and see which ones reflect your brand values in the right manner.

  1. Pick the Right Colors

Just like typography, colors also affect the overall emotional impact that a logo has. In fact, color psychology is an actual subject that’s studied by professionals to understand how colors influence consumer decisions and their opinions about different brands.
